How would you like to earn more money? First, you think of something that is of interest to you and write down some ideas concerning them. Now you want to make some additional detailed notes that will enhance your ideas. This process definitely is going to take time. So you have to be dedicated in your efforts and stick to a plan. Now you definitely need to do some research on your project. Learn as much as you can about what you want to venture into. As the slogan goes "Knowledge is Power", this is very true. Let me give you a for instance, I decided to purchase a house about 13 years ago. At that time, I really didn't know much about the process of owning my home or what I needed to do to get started.
Well this is what got me started, I was shopping actually for my mother-in-law which at that time she wasn't. I started going to Realtors, checking the newspaper listing and all. In the beginning, it was hard because I was working so I had to sacrifice the time during the evenings and weekend. I did it because it was for a good cause, I love helping people especially the ones who appreciate it.
I started finding seminars that would share with you how you can obtain a loan and also some grants if you qualified. I went to several of those, I took notes and I got plenty of literature. Later I started to check out the internet, I picked up different pamphlets of various cities. I learned that there are great differences in the prices of city properties as well as state.
Finally I found something, I though it was beautiful and it was also a decent price. My mother in-law didn't have a lot of money, however she would be sharing the property with her daughter. I got all the necessary information I needed to share with them and made some phone calls. My mother-in-law had been sick for a short while and wasn't doing that well. When I informed her daughter that I had found something, she stated that at this time she didn't feel it was the right time.
Well I myself really fell in love with the house, so I went home and told my husband about it. I explained that I had already spoken to his sister and that she was no longer interested. We had just recently been married, however I explained that I would really like to purchase the house for us. He said he would go and take a look at it and then we could decide. He did and yes we wound up purchasing the house, it was not an easy task. There was so much I still did not know about purchasing. We got a lawyer, started getting our paperwork together. There was so much to do, the bank wanted pay stubs, bank statements, etc. We then had to get our credit straightened out, bills started popping up from everywhere. Just before we were married, my husband was jumped and had to go to the emergency room. Yes, down the line that bill had to be paid. There seemed to be no end, we didn't have a lot of money saved but I was determined. It eventually paid off, I thank God for the experience I learned things before, during and after I closed on my home. This was a two family home so I was able to get an income from the second apartment. We also had a full basement, small front and back yard.
So you see, everything is a learning process. You have to study, research ask other people. We can't do everything by ourselves, I knew what I wanted and I made every effort to get it. Life is a experience of learning and no one is ever too old to learn.
